 Error Message  Solution
Account type is not correct on line # _ Account type (e.g., RG, SA) on the specified line(s) in the payroll file is/are incorrect.
Change the account type in the payroll file.
Basic Account does not exist The line for the Basic Account must be added to the transmittal;
Go to Modify Contribution;
Left click on the ADD icon;
Enter SS#;
Choose correct account type;
Enter the employee’s compensation information.
File name should be #####--mmddyy.pay The file that you selected to upload is not named correctly. Change the name and upload again.
Note: If you continue to get this message after you have changed the file name, go to Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Option>View>Hidden files and folders.
Check Show hidden files and folders.
Format is incorrect The entire payroll file is in the wrong format as outlined by Fund specifications.
If you need the correct format, contact the Fund.
Inactive participant cannot have any contributions Ensure that the contribution being made is during an active period of employment;
Check that the contribution date is correct;
Delete line from the Waiting to Enroll screen.
Incorrect TD loan payment amount You must pay only the exact amount due for the payroll period or the entire remainder of the loan.
Not enrolled as participant If the employee is pre-eligible, under the Financial menu select Waiting to Enroll and find employee’s name. Remove by clicking on the red X to left of name.
If employee is eligible, under the Non-Financial menu, select Enrollment. Enroll employee as prompted.
Overpayment exceeds the total transmittal amount The YMCA has asked for a refund that exceeds the actual contribution submitted;
Generate an employee history report;
Verify overpayment amount is equal or less than contribution for that month;
Adjust transmittal line.
Pre-eligible cannot have a Basic Account Go to Modify Contribution;
Delete any participant lines with account type RG, SA, AM, or SS and add a line with account type TD.
Required value missing on line # _ There is a missing value on the specified line(s) in the payroll file you are uploading.
Ensure that all required values (e.g., SSN, compensation, and contribution amounts) in the payroll file are included and correct.
TD/AP contract does not exist Voluntary accounts must first be set up by the Fund;
Fax 403(b) Smart Account or After-Tax Account forms to 646-458-2550 or mail them to YMCA Retirement Fund, 140 Broadway, New York, NY 10005.
There is a file format violation on line number # _ Specified line(s) in the payroll file is/are not in the correct format (i.e., does not follow file specifications).
If you need the correct format, contact the Fund.
Year to date contribution amount exceeds the maximum limit Ensure the contribution does not exceed maximum limit.
Adjust transmittal line.
Year to date salary exceeds the maximum limit Ensure the salary does not exceed the maximum limit.
Adjust transmittal line.
Year to date TD contribution amount exceeds maximum percentage limit of compensation Maximum contribution limit cannot exceed 100% of compensation. Year to date gross compensation must be more or equal to year to date TD contribution;
Adjust transmittal line.
